BSNI is working with a leading logistics company in Duncrue to recruit and experienced HGV 1 Driver.
Location: Duncrue
Duration: Permanent
Hours of work: 7am -5pm Monday to Friday
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various types of cargo, including flatbed deliveries.
Duties
Operate a lorry in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling of goods during transport.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Follow company policies and procedures for safe driving practices and cargo handling.
Qualifications
Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
Experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred.
Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
