Bluestones Staffing are partnering with Belfast City Council to recruit for an entry-level Environmental Health Officer for a temporary post in Belfast.

Hours: 8:30am – 5pm (occasional out of hours cover required)

Rate of Pay: £17.53 per hour

Job Type: Temporary Ongoing

Responsibilities:

  • Making an effective contribution to the development and achievement of the Environmental Health Service objectives and unit business plans
  • Carrying out specified enforcement, investigative, educational and advisory duties
  • Actively participate and progress through a structured development programme to build candidate’s professional experience and competence
  • Liaise with other organisations in all sectors to achieve unit objectives
  • Stay up to date on all new developments within the area of work
  • Participate in training of students for work experience
  • Provide occasional cover for out of hours services (eg night time noise service)
  • All other duties as and when required by the Service

Requirements:

  • Qualified as an Environmental Health Officer
  • Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers’ Registration Board OR a qualification acceptable to the board, that is, Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by CIEH or historical equivalent
  • Hold a full, current Driving License and have a car available for business purposes in NI
  • Good understanding of Environmental Health issues
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently where required
