Bluestones Staffing are partnering with Belfast City Council to recruit for an entry-level Environmental Health Officer for a temporary post in Belfast.
Hours: 8:30am – 5pm (occasional out of hours cover required)
Rate of Pay: £17.53 per hour
Job Type: Temporary Ongoing
Responsibilities:
- Making an effective contribution to the development and achievement of the Environmental Health Service objectives and unit business plans
- Carrying out specified enforcement, investigative, educational and advisory duties
- Actively participate and progress through a structured development programme to build candidate’s professional experience and competence
- Liaise with other organisations in all sectors to achieve unit objectives
- Stay up to date on all new developments within the area of work
- Participate in training of students for work experience
- Provide occasional cover for out of hours services (eg night time noise service)
- All other duties as and when required by the Service
Requirements:
- Qualified as an Environmental Health Officer
- Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers’ Registration Board OR a qualification acceptable to the board, that is, Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by CIEH or historical equivalent
- Hold a full, current Driving License and have a car available for business purposes in NI
- Good understanding of Environmental Health issues
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently where required
