BSNI is working with Lisburn Council to recruit casual event staff for the civic centre:

 

Location:  Lisburn

Duration:  52 Weeks

Hours per week:  Casual

Salary:  £12.45

 

KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

To act as the first point of contact for customers/visitors of the Island Hall, our state-of-the-art, multi-purpose venue, located within the grounds of Lagan Valley Island itself.  Ensuring our guests have a safe, enjoyable and highly positive experience of our facilities.  Offering the highest possible standards of customer care, whilst being vigilant in the safeguarding of children, vulnerable adults and the public at large.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

To offer the highest possible customer service at the Lagan Valley Island at all times, to conference delegates, concert patrons, visitors, contractors, staff and performers.
To meet and greet members of the public, solving problems, answering queries, offering directions, giving advice and endeavouring to ensure a trouble free visit for everyone.
To undertake pre-event safety checks and complete pre-event safety paperwork.  To ensure fire exits and routes are kept clear from obstructions.
To check tickets to ensure they are valid.
To usher patrons to their seats efficiently and effectively.
To take an active role in assisting the evacuation of the building by the public in the event of an emergency under the direction of the Duty Officer.
To admit latecomers to the Auditorium.
To monitor patrons and control audiences ensuring their safety and compliance with the house rules within the venue.
To offer information and advice to patrons.  To be knowledgeable about the current programme of events and the venue in general.
To assist people with disabilities, children, the elderly and infirm as and when required.
To comply with the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s complaints procedure.
To use telephone and radio communication, to liaise with colleagues and management.
To conduct tours of the venue as and when required.
To assist as required with the selling of merchandise, programme sales, food and beverages products.
To assist as necessary in the cloakroom areas.
To report as necessary and liaise with security control room staff.
To assist the Duty Officer and Porter with the setting up of events and room change-overs on an ad-hoc basis.
To engage in training and development as and when required by the Council.
To undertake such other relevant duties as may from time to time be required.
