KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
As a member of the Sports Services Team, the postholder will be required to play a key role in ensuring that a quality customer service is provided to customers on a consistent basis through the provision of clean and hygienic facilities and by helping ensure that the highest standards of health and safety for customers and colleagues are maintained at all times.
The post holder will assume other delegated duties appropriate to the post reasonably assigned by management.
Please note this is a regulated post, as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (SVG) Act 2006 and the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order 2007, both amended (in particular by, respectively, section 64 and Schedule 7, Protection of Freedoms Act 2012). Also as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Order 2007 (SVGO) and as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (PoFA).
Therefore an AccessNI disclosure will be requested to assist with the decision making process.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
It is essential that applicants have a minimum of:
- One year’s experience of working within a wet or dry facility, e.g. Outdoor Sports Pitches, Leisure Centre, Recreation Centre, Private Fitness Club or other sport/leisure organisation
- Previous experience dealing with the general public
- Experience of recording and maintaining information
Knowledge
- Awareness of Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult issue
General
- Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis and ability to work additional hours as required.
- Must be willing to undertake ice skating lessons
Desirable Criteria
Qualifications / Experience
It is desirable that applicants have a minimum of:
- A First Aid at Work Qualification
- Previous experience within the Leisure Industry
- Experience of I.T. based systems
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements specific to the Leisure Industry
