Bluestones Staffing is partnering with Belfast City council for Park Wardens
Hours: Monday to Friday, pro – rata – overtime available.
Rate of Pay: £15.33
Location: Ormeau Road, Belfast
Job Responsibilities:
To enforce council bye-laws, dog control orders, litter code and carry out alcohol enforcement.
To undertake on behalf of the council the full range of duties in connection with the councils powers in relation to anti-social behaviour; including:
Regular walkabouts or patrols in parks, cemeteries, allotments etc to identify problems and enforce relevant by-laws or legislation relating to antisocial behaviour. This will include, but is not restricted to:
Drinking, littering, graffiti in parks and open spaces;
Dumping/fly tipping;
Dog fouling;
Investigation of complaints and gathering of evidence in accordance with Council policy and the Police and Criminal Evidence (NI) Order 1989;
Undertaking enforcement within parks and open spaces, at key events and at seasonal periods alongside partner agencies; and in particular the police;
Issuing of warning notices and fixed penalties as appropriate;
Attendance at court or other formal hearings to give evidence;
Participation in covert and non-covert operations as required.
3. To patrol and clock in at designated sites and maintain orderly conduct of the public ensuring general safety; to give guidance and deal with any complaints in relation to the relevant sites.
4. To prepare and compile reports in relation to all aspects of the post.
5. To lift litter, waste, rubbish and hazardous materials such as glass bottles, dog fouling etc and ensure that all such materials are disposed of appropriately.
6. To examine vandalised areas ensuring as much as possible that the vandalised area is made safe and to also furnish reports on observations and the actions taken.
Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms:
have a full, current driving licence which enables them to drive in Northern Ireland, or, have access to a form of transport which enables them to carry out the duties of the post in full[1]; and
be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, that they have at least one year�s relevant experience in each of the following three areas:
dealing effectively with members of the public in a face-to-face environment;
working within a security role, for example, opening/closing facilities, carrying out patrols, setting alarms, recording and reporting incidents and working with other statutory bodies, for example, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI); and
working in an enforcement or legislative role, for example, dog control orders, litter code and, or alcohol enforcement.
