Bluestones Staffing are partnering with an independent distribution company to recruit for a full-time, permanent Logistics Manager based in County Derry. The successful candidate will be responsible for five locations across the North of Ireland.
Role: Transport & Logistics Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Greysteele, Co. Derry
Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday on rota basis, overtime)
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the distribution department across 5 locations.
- Ensure routing and scheduling of all vehicles, in compliance with drivers’ hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
- Communicate effectively with sales teams regarding delivery schedules.
- Monitor deliveries to ensure they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner while meeting Health & Safety and environmental standards.
- Monitor drivers’ hours, breaks, and tachographs to ensure compliance with current legislation.
- Manage rotas and timesheets, ensuring daily checks / time sheet analysis are completed.
- Maintain necessary documentation and admin daily for the department.
- Monitor vehicles and schedule minor maintenance issues for the domestic tanker fleet in your area of responsibility.
- Manage driver absences and annual leave in collaboration with the HR department.
- Assist HR in driver recruitment, including interviews, inductions, training etc.
- Liaise with the Operations Director regarding road traffic accidents (RTA) or vehicle maintenance issues.
- Investigate transport incidents, such as RTAs, contamination, spills, property damage, and driver behaviour, ensuring all driver paperwork and outcomes are completed.
- Manage depot operations, ensuring proper product storage, water dips, meters, and tank gauging meet required quality standards.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the transport sector.
- Thorough knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
Desirable Criteria:
- Possession of a category C + E license, ADR License, and CPC.
- Excellent geographic knowledge of NI
- Familiarity with planning/scheduling systems.
