Bluestones Staffing are partnering with Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council to recruit a Gallery Attendant on a casual basis for one of their locations.
Job Title: Gallery Attendant (Scale 1A)
Hours: Casual
Job Type: Temporary ongoing via Agency
Rate of Pay: £11.79 per hour
Location: Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the health, safety and security of designated areas
- Guiding visitors through tours of exhibitions and providing workshops
- Providing craft demonstrations and participating in training for same
- Participating in outreach and promotional programmes, including special events
- Any additional duties required, determined by the Education Services Officer
- Providing occasional cover for Front of House / Reception to cover sickness
Essential Criteria:
- Five GCSE passes, grade A-C or equivelent – one of these must be in a History, Science, or Arts related subject, or a subject related to working in a customer care / heritage environment
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as either a Gallery Attendant, working with the public in an arts/history/science/crafts environment, or working with school children / vulnerable adults
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Proven interest and ability in some area of arts, crafts or community workshops
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Packages
Desirable Criteria:
- Full UK Driving License and access to own vehicle
