Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Drivers Helper / Warehouse operative to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our delivery operations by assisting drivers with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and have a keen interest in logistics and transportation.
Duties
Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle.
Ensure that all items are secured properly for transport.
Help navigate routes and communicate effectively with the driver regarding delivery schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns from clients.
Perform basic mechanical checks on the vehicle as needed to ensure safe operation.
Support warehouse operations when not on deliveries, including inventory management and stock organisation.
Requirements
Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with drivers and customers.
Previous experience in a warehouse or delivery environment is advantageous.
Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle checks and minor repairs.
Valid driving licence preferred, particularly for those interested in future driving roles such as van driver or flatbed operator.
Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Physical stamina to handle lifting and moving of goods regularly throughout the day.
A willingness to learn about commercial driving practices and safety regulations.
