Bluestones Staffing are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a temporary ongoing contract with Belfast City Council.
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £16.12 per hour
Job Type: Temporary Ongoing via Agency
Responsibilities:
- Planning, deploying, and managing all allocated resources in such a way as to secure optimal performance and the achievement of the unit’s financial and operational targets
- Liaising, co-ordinating with, and assisting in the management of any external consultants, as directed by the Property Officer
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of planned and reactive maintenance programmes of all types at all locations
- Developing bills of quantities, deploying appropriate schedules of rates, measuring work on-site in all areas of the city
- Establishing, developing, and maintaining approved lists of building sub-contractors for use in seeking quotations and tenders for sub-contract work
- Control and administration of the CIS Inland Revenue contractor scheme and/or similar legislation
- Preparing interim valuations, variations and final accounts for sub-contracted work, including validation/certification for payment
- Producing a range of statistical information as directed
- All other duties as and when required by the Property Officer
Requirements:
- Third level qualification in a relevant subject; Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
- Ability to demonstrate one year’s relevant experience within the building industry
- Full driver’s license that enables you to drive for work purposes
- If you do not hold a third level qualification you can still apply for the role, as long as you have minimum 2 years’ experience within the building industry; to include specific experience and duties held
- Ability to prioritise, allocate work effectively and forward-plan using appropriate project management tools
- Ability to develop individual targets to meet service plan obligations, monitor, and manage performance against targets
- Ability to use both standard and specialist software applications
