Main purpose of job
Responsible to the Estates Management team or other appropriate officer for the undertaking of the work in the Adventurous Playground/Cave Hill Country Park.
To ensure a high standard of customer service, cleanliness and good appearance of buildings and surroundings.
To implement the policy and procedures of Belfast City Council, in particular adhering to the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
Experience
Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms, be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, at least one year’s relevant experience in each of the following three areas:
- dealing with enquiries from customers or members of the public in person;
- cash handling on behalf of others; and
- the operation of facilities, that is, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, maintenance and repair, health and safety procedures, and associated administrative duties.
Please note, the council reserves the right to invite shortlisted applicants to undertake and pass three validated aptitude tests (numerical computation, verbal interpretation and basic checking skills) which will be used to determine which applicants will be invited for interview.
Short-listing criteria
In addition to the above experience, Belfast City Council reserves the right to shortlist only those applicants who, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms can demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, that they have at least two years’ relevant experience in each of the areas detailed above, (1) – (3).
